Job description
The Financial Reporting team is responsible for managing reporting developments, performing consolidation, and preparing and publishing financial statements for external stakeholders including regulatory authorities. The team manages key deliverables such as preparation and analysis of consolidated financial statements, implementing changes in financial disclosures, coordinating with senior stakeholders, delivering board papers, and contributing to accounting policy matters. The role supports the Head of Financial Reporting MENAT and plays an active part in transformation projects and maintaining a strong control framework for HBMEâs financial reporting.

Key responsibilities
- Interpreting new regulatory financial reporting requirements and implementing necessary processes.
- Performing analytical reviews and providing assurance on data quality for IFRS and FINREP reporting.
- Liaising with stakeholders including Business Finance Heads, Financial Controller, auditors, and legal teams.
- Preparing and finalizing Board papers before review by Head of Financial Reporting.
- Owning financial reporting production of assigned processes and reviewing with senior management.
- Leading the Annual Report and Accounts production process for MENAT entities.
- Managing audits for financial statements and resolving any audit issues.
- Preparing documentation for auditors including going concern and impairment assessments.
- Driving closure of reporting issues with stakeholders.
- Managing offshore teams for efficient financial reporting production.
- Ensuring compliance with SoX controls and strong governance processes.
- Delivering standardization and simplification of reporting processes.
- Supporting the design and delivery of new reporting and disclosure requirements.
- Understanding consolidation mechanisms for complex IFRS and FINREP reports.
- Identifying efficiency and consistency improvement opportunities.
- Being flexible with duties to manage process peaks.
- Responding to senior management and auditor queries.
- Partnering with subject matter experts in finance and related functions.
Experience & skills
- Graduation degree is required to secure UAE Visa and Work Permit.
- Qualified Chartered Accountant with 10+ yearsâ post-qualification experience in accounting/financial reporting.
- Strong understanding of IFRS and consolidation of accounts.
- Experience managing delivery of designated financial reporting processes.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word) and Finance ERPs.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience in planning, organizing, and problem solving techniques.
- Proven ability to command senior-level respect and collaboration.
- Experience across a range of business and operational processes in financial services.
- Strong risk identification, mitigation, and control application capabilities.
- Track record of delivering to internal stakeholders including auditors and business functions.
- Commercially minded with timely decision-making ability.
