Job description
Saipem is seeking an Electronic Specialist to join its UAE-based team supporting the H&G DJ project. The role involves monitoring, maintaining, and ensuring the operational efficiency of onboard electrical and electronic equipment in accordance with safety protocols and technical standards. The Electronic Specialist will work closely with the electrical team, support maintenance scheduling, manage spare parts requisitions, and act as the Cyber Security Officer (CySO) as defined by applicable IMO maritime instruments and Saipemâs cybersecurity framework. The position requires a strong adherence to HSE practices and a proactive approach to risk mitigation and technical compliance in a dynamic offshore/onshore environment.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Work in coordination with the electrical team, applying sufficient electrical knowledge.
- Plan and report electrical maintenance to the Electrical Lead or Chief Engineer.
- Monitor and control on-board electrical/electronic equipment in line with safety procedures.
- Define maintenance work priorities and propose maintenance schedules.
- Propose appropriate material stock levels to ensure continuity of operations.
- Ensure work activities are performed in compliance with HSE procedures and quality practices.
- Maintain the operational efficiency of all electrical and electronic systems.
- Serve as the focal point for all cyber security-related matters onboard.
- Ensure compliance with the companyâs cyber security model and applicable industry standards as per the organizational chart.
Experience & skills
- Prior experience with electrical/electronic systems maintenance in offshore/onshore energy sectors.
- Coordination with multidisciplinary technical teams.
- Knowledge of HSE standards and maritime safety procedures.
- Capability to fulfill Cyber Security Officer responsibilities under IMO guidelines.
- Ability to plan maintenance and manage material inventories for operational continuity.
- Understanding of cybersecurity compliance requirements for industrial systems.
