Job description
The VP & HR Business Partner (Emiratised Role) within First Abu Dhabi Bankās Group Human Resources leads strategic HR partnering for support functions, ensuring functional strategies cascade into department business plans with vertical alignment and horizontal integration. The role manages objectives through leadership of assigned departments, drives talent development and succession (with emphasis on Emiratis), and acts as an internal consultant to diagnose, develop, and implement HR strategies and people plans aligned to business goals. Responsibilities include advising and coaching managers on performance management and complex employee relations, collaborating with HR product partners to integrate a commercial people lens into solutions, influencing and guiding organizational restructures, managing policies, systems, processes and procedures to meet procedural and legislative requirements, and leading continuous improvement to enhance productivity and cost efficiency. The position oversees budgeting/financial planning (as required), prepares timely, accurate reports to Group standards, and upholds FABās Conflicts of Interest and Code of Conduct policies across themes such as gifts, entertainments, personal account dealing, outside business interests, material deals, and information wallsāpartnering with the business line, Compliance Control Room, and Group HR. The role models FAB values, fosters inclusion, and ensures an ethical, value-driven culture while aligning with the Groupās purpose to create value through differentiation, agility, and innovation.

Key responsibilities
- Cascade functional strategy into department business plans to ensure vertical alignment and horizontal integration with interfacing strategies
- Lead assigned departments by setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating staff to maximize sectional performance
- Drive talent development initiatives, including succession and retention of high-potential individuals and Emiratis, in collaboration with HR product partners
- Act as an internal consultant to diagnose, develop, and implement HR strategies and people plans that support business goals and sustained performance
- Advise, guide, and support employees and managers on HR disciplines and policies; coach leaders through performance management and complex employee relations issues
- Engage and collaborate with n-2 and n-3 and HR product partners to co-create value propositions and improve people performance and business capability
- Influence, advise, and guide organizational restructures to align with Group strategy and business unit goals
- Manage preparation and recommendation of department budgets and monitor financial performance versus budget (as required)
- Ensure effective implementation of departmental policies, systems, processes, and procedures to meet procedural/legislative requirements and deliver quality, cost-effective service
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance systems, processes, productivity, and cost reduction in line with global standards
- Prepare timely, accurate department reports that meet Group requirements, policies, and quality standards
- Uphold Conflicts of Interest and Code of Conduct policies; partner with stakeholders on conflicts management, policy/process adherence, and breach escalation
- Model and drive adherence to organizational values and ethics to foster a value-driven culture within the Group
Experience & skills
- Bachelorās degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related discipline; Masterās degree preferred
- Minimum 10 yearsā relevant experience in the banking sector, including at least 4 years in similar roles with progressively increasing managerial responsibilities in an HR consultancy function
- Proven experience in HR business partnering, talent development, succession planning, and organizational restructuring
- Demonstrated ability to advise and coach leaders on performance management and complex employee relations issues
- Experience collaborating with HR product partners and senior stakeholders (n-2 and n-3) to deliver integrated people solutions
- Knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and legislative frameworks; capability to implement and embed policies across departments
- Strong budgeting/financial planning acumen (as required) and proficiency in reporting to Group standards
- Track record of continuous improvement, process optimization, and change management within large financial institutions
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills with a commitment to organizational values and ethics
