Job description
The Senior Solutions Engineer for Cloudflare’s Digital Native Business acts as the technical advocate for customers, delivering fit-for-purpose solution designs and adoption roadmaps. The role spans pre-sales engagement, technical validation, and collaboration with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Support teams to ensure successful implementation and adoption of Cloudflare’s solutions. This position requires a strong understanding of internet performance and security technologies, along with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable solutions for customers. Cloudflare Solutions Engineers work with a diverse range of clients, from SMBs to large enterprises, ensuring customer success while promoting the value of Cloudflare’s products.

Key responsibilities
- Act as technical customer advocate during pre-sales engagements for Digital Native Business customers.
- Design, demonstrate, and explain Cloudflare solutions in ways that are fit-for-purpose and aligned with customer needs.
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Support teams to ensure holistic customer success.
- Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge across Cloudflare’s portfolio, including security, performance, DNS, CDN, and developer platforms.
- Understand and communicate the competitive landscape and articulate Cloudflare’s differentiation and ROI for customers.
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines while prioritizing customer-facing and internal deliverables.
- Provide technical validation and problem-solving during solution design discussions with customers.
- Travel periodically (10–15 days per quarter) to customer offices, conferences, or talks to deliver technical presentations and workshops.
- Utilize scripting skills (Python, Bash, JavaScript) to support solution demonstrations and automation where applicable.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize customer adoption and post-sales support.
Experience & skills
- 3–10 years of experience in IT, pre-sales, consulting, software engineering, or related technical field.
- Strong technical understanding of internet protocols, security, and performance technologies (TCP/UDP, DNS, TLS/SSL, HTTP, CDN, DDoS mitigation, Zero Trust).
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Oracle, or Microsoft Azure.
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts in simple, actionable terms for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Fluent English (written and spoken) with strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in customer engagement, problem-solving, and identifying technical pain points.
- Familiarity with pre-sales or consulting roles, ideally in technology or cybersecurity industries.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage projects, and deliver under tight deadlines.
- Willingness to travel periodically (10–15 days per quarter).
- Bonus: experience with scripting languages, AI-enabled tools, and emerging security technologies.
