Job description
The Data Scientist Senior Manager at Kempinski is a senior commercial analytics leadership role responsible for shaping and scaling data-driven decision-making across the organization, with an initial focus on revenue management. The role designs and oversees advanced analytics tools, data infrastructure, and predictive models that support forecasting, pricing, inventory, channel mix, and profitability optimization. Acting as a strategic partner to commercial, finance, operations, and digital teams, the role champions a data-driven culture, ensures data quality and governance, and delivers measurable commercial impact. This position also serves as an internal thought leader on data science applications within hospitality and is expected to build and lead a high-performing data science team in subsequent phases.

Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with IT to enhance data pipelines, governance, and analytics infrastructure
- Design and oversee development of revenue management tools and data platforms
- Define and enforce data standards, quality measures, and reporting consistency
- Ensure integrity, accessibility, and reliability of commercial data sources
- Identify and integrate new data streams to improve modeling and algorithm performance
- Champion a data-driven culture across commercial and cross-functional teams
- Serve as a thought leader on data science trends in travel and hospitality
- Build and scale a high-performing data science team (from year two onward)
- Develop data-driven tools for forecasting, pricing, inventory, and channel optimization
- Support dynamic pricing and demand management through real-time analytics
- Design algorithms to improve distribution strategy and profitability
- Build recommendation engines for upselling, cross-selling, and dynamic packaging
- Scale analytics tools across the organization and drive adoption
- Educate end users on model logic and functionality, capturing feedback for enhancements
Experience & skills
- 3–5 years of experience in data science, advanced analytics, or quantitative consulting
- Strong expertise in predictive modeling, analytics, and data engineering
- Demonstrated ability to drive measurable commercial or operational impact
- Experience in revenue management or demand forecasting (strong advantage)
- Proficiency in Python and SQL
- Experience with cloud and data platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Databricks
- Experience with BI and visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau
- Strong ability to communicate complex analytical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
