Job description
The Associate Director, Corporate Origination & Business Development will be part of the Regional Corridors Origination Team, focused on acquiring and managing new corporate banking relationships across Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. The role involves cross-selling wholesale banking products including structured finance, trade services, cash management, FX, and derivatives. This Bahrain-based position requires a strategic, client-centric approach with responsibility for onboarding, credit structuring, compliance oversight, and cross-department coordination. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in the regional banking landscape and the ability to engage major corporate clients with tailored financial solutions.

Key responsibilities
- Drive the origination and onboarding of new corporate relationships, focusing on sustainable business growth.
- Develop and nurture client relationships while cross-selling structured financing solutions, trade services, cash management, liquidity, FX, and derivatives.
- Understand clientsâ strategic agendas to offer valuable insights and customized solutions that align with their priorities.
- Structure credit facilities with sound risk judgment, ensuring alignment with profitability targets.
- Collaborate effectively with various departments (coverage sectors, products, risk, legal, operations, etc.) and across geographies to deliver bespoke client solutions efficiently.
- Lead the client onboarding process, overseeing solution development, pricing discussions, facility structuring, documentation negotiation, transaction execution, and account setup.
- Serve as the ultimate owner of KYC and AML responsibilities, exercising prudent judgment to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulations.
- Support initiatives aimed at expanding our scope and generating new revenue streams.
Experience & skills
- 8â10 years of banking experience, particularly in the Bahraini and Saudi markets.
- In-depth knowledge of the Bahraini and Saudi corporate banking landscape; knowledge of Saudi Eastern Province preferred.
- Strong understanding of wholesale banking products and prior experience in a global financial institution.
- Solid credit acumen and the ability to make balanced credit decisions.
- Previous experience dealing with large corporate clients is a must.
- Familiarity with Middle East corridors and relevant experience is required.
