Beyond typical data engineering, this role centers on designing, building and operationalizing AI powered workflows, agents and applications within Palantir Foundry and Palantir's Artificial Intelligence Platform (AIP). You'll design, develop and maintain scalable pipelines, transformations and applications across the full Foundry ecosystem, translating complex business needs into technical solutions that hold up in production. AIP use cases sit at the center of the work too, supporting the design and deployment of copilots, retrieval workflows and decision support agents. Grounding agents in retrieval augmented generation, known as RAG, means connecting to relevant data sources, embedding and vector search, and ontology content, while Ontology Augmented Generation, or OAG, comes into play for operational decisions where logic, data, actions and relationships all live inside the Ontology. Senior engineers collaborate closely on agent design, instructions and evaluation using AIP's native features, so this isn't work done in isolation. Stakeholders bring their requirements directly to you, and end to end delivery means capturing those needs, designing solutions and shipping working applications rather than handing off partway through. Business teams adopting Foundry and AIP get training and support along the way, and governance stays front of mind, with solutions expected to meet standards for data quality and responsible AI use. Ten or more years in IT and data, including at least five as a Data Platform Engineer or Data Engineer, sets the baseline here, along with two or more years working directly in the Palantir Foundry ecosystem and at least one year hands on with AIP. Strong Python, PySpark and SQL skills round out the technical bar, alongside the confidence to work independently with non technical business users.
