Job description
The Assistant Operations Manager β Transport role at Transguard Group is responsible for the daily operational management of the passenger transportation division within the Total Facilities Management business, based at the headquarters in Dubai Airport Freezone. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the role oversees region-wise operational KPIs, cost control, and service delivery to ensure the highest level of performance for internal and external customers. The position plays a key role in fleet management, compliance inspections, and coordination with fleet and compliance teams to maintain regulatory and operational standards across the transport fleet. Responsibilities include managing vehicle scheduling, route planning, supplier coordination, risk management, cost optimization, staff supervision, and deployment of smart routing technologies using GPS and TMS systems. The role is accountable for operational P&L performance, achieving cost-per-head targets, and delivering zone-wise scorecard metrics through effective leadership of supervisors and transport teams.

Key responsibilities
- Manage daily operational activities of the passenger transportation division
- Oversee region-wise operational KPIs and zone-wise scorecard delivery
- Control operational costs and manage the assigned area or zone budget
- Monitor operational P&L, annual spend, and budget variances
- Deliver cost-per-head targets across transport operations
- Plan and execute vehicle scheduling and route planning for employee transportation
- Ensure compliance with fleet and operational policies and TG compliance standards
- Coordinate with fleet and compliance teams to conduct inspections and reporting
- Analyze vehicle, driver, and schedule utilization to optimize resources and reduce costs
- Manage transport suppliers, including quotes for new routes and ad hoc requests
- Maintain and manage the Transport Risk Register for vehicle and operational risks
- Implement operational changes to improve efficiency and performance
- Assess driver and staff performance and prepare development reports
- Train, appraise, and motivate transport staff and supervisors
- Lead deployment of smart routing and scheduling using GPS and TMS tools
Experience & skills
- Hold a degree in Logistics, with a Bachelorβs degree preferred
- Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in transport or fleet-related operations
- Demonstrate experience managing large transport fleets, with passenger transport experience preferred
- Exhibit strong knowledge of fleet operations, route planning, and vehicle scheduling
- Demonstrate experience in budget control, P&L management, and cost optimization
- Show ability to manage supervisors, drivers, and operational teams
- Demonstrate experience using GPS and Transport Management Systems for routing and scheduling
