Job description
The Senior Sales Specialist – Instrumentation & Measurement Solutions at ABB is responsible for driving revenue growth and expanding market share for ABB Instrumentation in Saudi Arabia, with a strong focus on the Western Region (Jeddah, Makkah, Madinah, Yanbu, Rabigh). Reporting to the Sales Manager within the Measurement & Analytics Division, the role promotes ABB’s portfolio of smart instrumentation and analyzers, including gas and liquid analyzers, instrumentation for temperature, pressure, flow, and level measurement, force measurement solutions (flatness, thickness, tension), and advanced digital solutions for device management, device health check, and predictive maintenance. The position targets key industries such as oil & gas, chemical, water and wastewater, power, hydrogen, batteries, and marine, enabling industrial digital transformation, process optimization, emissions monitoring, and environmental sustainability through accurate sensing and smart measurement data. The role involves proactive business development (cold calling, lead follow-up, networking), influencing specifications early in project lifecycles, managing project sales, preparing technical and commercial proposals with pricing strategy and margin management, negotiating contracts per ABB guidelines, managing pipeline and forecasting in CRM (Salesforce or similar), ensuring compliance with ABB sales processes, ethics and trade compliance, and collaborating closely with product management, service, engineering, project teams, and operations to meet customer expectations on quality, lead time, and aftersales support.

Key responsibilities
- Own and grow sales for ABB Instrumentation in Saudi Arabia with priority focus on the Western Region from a Jeddah base
- Generate new business opportunities through cold calling, lead follow-up, networking, and referrals
- Plan and execute frequent customer visits to end users, EPCs, system integrators, and distributors to build long-term relationships at multiple levels
- Increase ABB awareness through customer presentations, lunch & learns, events, and coordination with marketing and brand initiatives
- Identify project opportunities, influence technical specifications, and position ABB solutions early in the project lifecycle
- Prepare and present technical and commercial quotations and proposals in coordination with engineering and estimating teams, including pricing strategy and margin management
- Negotiate commercial terms and contracts in line with ABB guidelines and ensure accurate and timely order intake
- Manage the sales pipeline in CRM including forecasting, monthly reporting, and activity tracking
- Monitor market and competitor developments and translate insights into account plans and sales actions
- Collaborate with product management, service, project teams, and operations to meet customer expectations on quality, lead time, and aftersales
- Ensure full compliance with ethics, trade compliance, and ABB sales processes in all customer interactions
Experience & skills
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics) or Business/Commercial discipline with technical background strongly preferred
- Possess 3–7+ years of B2B sales experience in industrial markets with preference for instrumentation (pressure, temperature, flow, level, analyzers)
- Demonstrate a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and building a healthy pipeline
- Show experience selling to end users in oil & gas, chemicals, power, water, EPCs, system integrators, and distributors in Saudi Arabia
- Exhibit experience in project sales and specification influencing as a strong advantage
- Maintain familiarity with the Western Region market (Jeddah, Makkah, Madinah, Yanbu, Rabigh)
- Apply strong prospecting capability and consultative selling mindset
- Utilize CRM systems such as Salesforce with structured pipeline management and forecasting discipline
- Communicate fluently in Arabic (spoken and written) and professionally in English
- Demonstrate willingness to travel frequently within the Western Region and occasionally across Saudi Arabia and hold a valid driving license
