Job description
Kings College Hospital (KCH) Dubai is seeking a dedicated and proactive Registered Nurse for its Emergency Department in Dubai Hills. This role requires dynamic clinical expertise in fast-paced, critical care settings, where you will contribute to high-quality, evidence-based nursing care. As a frontline provider, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing holistic care for patients in emergency situations. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, maintain accurate records, uphold patient safety and confidentiality, and contribute to continuous professional development, quality audits, and emergency response procedures.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Deliver high-standard, evidence-based care in emergency settings at KCH
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient needs under supervision of senior nursing staff
- Ensure all practices align with Dubai Health Authority (DHA) guidelines
- Respond swiftly and effectively to medical emergencies and trauma cases
- Manage wound care and primary closures as required
- Maintain up-to-date patient health records and ensure strict confidentiality
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and their families
- Support and educate patients and caregivers about health management
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Adhere to hospital protocols for safeguarding, infection control, and emergency codes
- Administer medications and ensure proper documentation of drug administration
- Support quality improvement initiatives and participate in clinical audits
- Assist with orientation and training of junior nurses and clinical learners
- Manage communication through SBAR and maintain accurate verbal and written reporting
- Ensure patient rights, cultural values, and dignity are upheld at all times
Experience & skills
- Valid DHA License as a Registered Nurse
- Bachelorās degree in Nursing or equivalent qualification
- Registration from recognized boards in Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, South Africa, New Zealand, or Australia
- 1ā2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or similar emergency care setting
- Resuscitation certificate as per emergency department standards
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for patient and team interaction
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
- Ongoing CPD participation and willingness to take part in regular appraisals
- Proficiency in electronic documentation and general computer applications
- Demonstrated knowledge of clinical safety, incident reporting, and safeguarding procedures
