The Senior Engineer IT Technical Operations at Omantel is responsible for analyzing and troubleshooting network communication failures, and leading installation, design, and support of LAN and WAN network infrastructure. The role involves deep expertise in routing, switching, and network security implementations across multi-vendor environments including Cisco, Fortinet, HP, Huawei, and F5. The incumbent will gather business requirements, architect and implement network solutions, optimize network systems, and supervise installation of connectivity solutions. Key responsibilities also include cross-functional collaboration with engineering and sales, delivering 24/7 network performance monitoring, enforcing service level agreements (SLAs), supporting vendor contracts including RFP/RFT processes, and leading second-level technical support and escalation. The role requires advanced knowledge of TCP/IP networking, voice and data communication tools, network QOS, and shell scripting in UNIX environments. The engineer will act as a key customer technical focal point and maintain operational standards across the enterprise network infrastructure.
