Job description
Inception, the UAEās national-scale enabler in AI research and development, is hiring an IT Manager to lead strategic planning, implementation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure. The role ensures seamless operations, strong cybersecurity, and business alignment, particularly for AI-driven environments. Responsibilities include managing hybrid workspaces, Azure and Entra ID environments, VDIs, endpoint security, and SOC/NOC operations. The IT Manager will also oversee compliance with ISO, SOC2, GDPR, and HIPAA standards, manage vendors and contracts, support enterprise applications, and collaborate with DevOps and facilities teams. The role requires leadership, customer-focused problem-solving, and strong communication skills to translate technical concepts for diverse stakeholders.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement enterprise-level solutions for endpoint and workplace management, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, networking, and WiFi infrastructure.
- Oversee Azure cloud environments, including Entra ID, VDI, and Windows 365 deployments.
- Guide organizations through ISO, SOC2, GDPR, and HIPAA compliance and certification processes.
- Manage SOC and NOC operations to ensure robust cybersecurity posture.
- Ensure high availability and performance of VDI environments and cloud-based workspaces.
- Implement and enforce InfoSec policies, including endpoint security tools and firewalls.
- Lead patch and vulnerability management programs to mitigate risks and ensure compliance.
- Negotiate contracts and manage vendor/MSP relationships to meet SLAs.
- Monitor service delivery performance and resolve escalations promptly.
- Oversee deployment, licensing, and lifecycle management of enterprise applications and software.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate on-premises and cloud systems.
- Partner with facilities teams to maintain IT infrastructure in office locations.
- Provide support for complex IT issues to ensure minimal downtime and high satisfaction.
- Develop IT budgets, resource plans, and training programs.
Experience & skills
- Bachelorās degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (Masterās preferred).
- 15+ years of IT management experience, including 3+ years in senior leadership.
- Expertise in Azure cloud, Entra ID, and hybrid infrastructure management.
- Experience with endpoint security tools (CrowdStrike, Forcepoint, Microsoft Defender).
- Knowledge of patch management tools (SCCM, Intune), vulnerability scanners, Wi-Fi management, VPNs, SD-WAN, and network monitoring.
- Proven track record of managing SOC and NOC operations.
- Strong problem-solving skills with customer-centric approach.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Strong people management and leadership skills.
- Experience managing vendors, suppliers, and MSPs.
- Ability to align IT operations with compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC2, GDPR, HIPAA).
