Job description
The Business Analyst - Financial Remediation plays a key role in supporting the Financial Remediation Unit of a major bank in the UAE, contributing to operational excellence and business support within delinquent accounts management. The role involves monitoring key operational metrics, creating dashboards using tools such as Power BI, Excel, and PowerPoint, and developing business performance reports. The position also requires end-to-end workflow mapping to identify inefficiencies, supporting cross-functional coordination, and translating operational data into business insights. The analyst works to ensure provisioning targets and product flow are met across personal loans, credit cards, and auto loans, aligning activities with commercial priorities and operational goals. The role demands expertise in Python, Power BI, decision tree models, MS Office tools including VBA and SQL, and experience with COGNOS reporting. Strong analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving abilities are essential, along with a proven track record in high-pressure environments within financial services or similar sectors.

Key responsibilities
- Oversee monitoring of key operational metrics across portfolios and initiate corrective or improvement actions based on performance trends
- Support business operations by identifying strategies to manage delinquent accounts, balancing customer experience with commercial priorities
- Ensure operational excellence using Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI to create impactful dashboards, reports, and presentations
- Address operational challenges by recommending solutions to improve returns from defaulted accounts while managing costs
- Map end-to-end operational workflows in the Financial Remediation function to identify inefficiencies
- Coordinate cross-functional support for assimilation and validation of business processes
- Translate operational data into actionable business insights
- Interpret business requirements from teams and develop tailored operational solutions
- Provide accurate performance reports, including collections dashboards and ad hoc analysis
- Design and implement operational reporting frameworks to monitor performance against service benchmarks and SLAs
- Demonstrate understanding of collections operations and align support activities with business objectives
Experience & skills
- Proven experience in report and end-to-end tool automation, preferably in collection strategy
- 3 years of experience creating dashboards and presentations with excellent problem-solving skills
- Experience in a similar role within Financial Services or Social Enterprise is a plus
- Expert knowledge of Power BI, Python, and decision tree models
- Expert knowledge of MS Office VBA front-end and back-end development, SQL Query, Excel VBA, SAS, and PowerPoint
- Strong analytical, logical reasoning, and extrapolation skills
- Ability to translate analysis into recommendations, presentations, and reports
- Experience with COGNOS report generation and understanding of data warehousing and architecture
- Ability to present technical findings appropriately to different audiences
