Job description
Oliver Wyman’s Government and Public Institutions practice in Abu Dhabi is seeking high-performing professionals at Associate and Engagement Manager levels to support the continued expansion of its GCC public sector strategy platform. The team advises government entities and public institutions on complex strategic, economic, and organizational challenges, including economic and social development, fiscal and monetary policy, governance reform, investment promotion, tourism strategy, and human capital development. Consultants work closely with senior government stakeholders to design and implement practical, high-impact solutions that drive sustainable transformation. The role offers rapid professional growth, entrepreneurial exposure, and the opportunity to shape large-scale public sector initiatives across the region. Candidates will be part of a collaborative, intellectually rigorous environment that values innovation, ownership, and impact.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Lead or contribute to complex government and public sector strategy engagements, structuring ambiguous problems into clear workstreams and actionable analyses.
- Develop hypotheses, conduct rigorous quantitative and qualitative analysis, and synthesize insights into strategic recommendations tailored to client objectives.
- Manage day-to-day project delivery, ensuring timelines, quality standards, and client expectations are consistently met.
- For Associates: break down complex problems, guide junior consultants, execute analysis independently, and develop practical, evidence-based recommendations.
- For Engagement Managers: lead project teams end-to-end, oversee workstream integration, ensure cohesive solutions, and maintain senior-level client engagement.
- Present findings and strategic recommendations to senior government officials and executive stakeholders with clarity and confidence.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and ensuring recommendations are practical and implementable.
- Contribute to business development efforts, proposal preparation, thought leadership, and knowledge building within the public sector practice.
Experience & skills
- Degree from a top academic institution in business, economics, public policy, engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5–7+ years of relevant experience, ideally within a top-tier strategy consulting firm or comparable organization.
- Proven experience leading or contributing to projects within government or public sector institutions, preferably in the GCC region.
- Strong track record of managing teams and delivering high-quality outcomes in fast-paced, demanding environments.
- Demonstrated expertise in structured strategic problem solving with strong analytical and quantitative capabilities.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with confidence presenting to senior executives and government leaders.
- Strong leadership presence, entrepreneurial mindset, and willingness to take initiative and ownership of impact.
- Arabic language skills are a plus.
- Willingness to travel as required to support regional client engagements.
