Job description
Tamara, the leading fintech platform in Saudi Arabia and the wider GCC, is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive new business opportunities and establish strategic partnerships. The role focuses on identifying, qualifying, and building partnerships with major retailers and groups, negotiating long-term contracts, and managing the sales cycle from prospecting to closing. The position requires working closely with internal teams, including product, technology, risk, finance, and support, to ensure partner expectations are met and performance targets are achieved. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in partnership development, relationship management, and sales within SaaS, retail, e-commerce, or similar industries.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Outbound prospecting via network, email, and phone to generate new opportunities with large retailers and groups
- Identify and establish strategic partnerships across various verticals, sectors, and geographies
- Negotiate and close long-term contracts benefiting both Tamara and partners
- Oversee engagements from business case to negotiation and implementation, managing opportunities through CRM
- Facilitate conversations with C-level executives and build long-term professional relationships
- Collaborate with internal teams to meet partner expectations, performance objectives, and resolve issues
- Hold weekly 1-to-1 meetings with the partner success team to ensure partnerships meet performance targets
- Own and manage a pipeline of opportunities within a market or vertical
- Drive the sales cycle from prospecting to closing
Experience & skills
- Bachelor’s in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience
- 3–4 years of new business development and sales experience, preferably in SaaS
- Proven track record in partnership development and relationship management
- Project management experience in retail, e-commerce, or similar industries
- Experience developing business proposals for viability, sustainability, and strategic fit
- Strong influencing, persuading, and negotiating skills
- Presentation, promotion, and communication skills
