Job description
TechnipFMC seeks a Field Service Technician based in Abu Dhabi (Hybrid; Offshore) to perform wellhead-oriented field services for projects supported from the UAE and internationally. The role is fully accountable for personal and team safety, holding safety, workmanship quality, and efficiency as values; successfully completes SST; actively contributes to safety systems (safety meetings, STOP cards) and the Engineerās Reading File; achieves a target utilization of 17 days/month; and participates in the FNCR/eFNCR process and RCA for nonconformances. Core scope includes supervising wellhead and Xmas Tree installations, maintenance, and repair at wellsites (onshore and offshore); pre-job preparation of wellhead equipment and trees; testing and servicing of wellheads and valves; attending customer FATs; conducting well surveys and recording conditions; inspecting and assessing wellhead installation tools; and delivering mechanical services at site including bolt torqueing, casing cutting, seized wellhead bolt cutting, onsite machining, and seized lock down screw tip removal. Responsibilities extend to installing, testing, and repairing new and reworked TechnipFMC products; handling customer comments/requests/complaints; providing sales support to ensure customers are fully informed; completing FSOs, job reports and revenue documents on time; reporting quality issues and procedural/equipment defects to Service Management and participating in RCA; preparing and completing safety documentation and pursuing safe work practices; leading others per procedures and applicable codes/standards; acting as on-site supervisor for field crews and reporting to Service Management; assisting with procedural requirements for current/future jobs; and being prepared to travel locally/internationally and to work unsupervised. The role reports to the country Services Coordinator and requires adaptability, customer focus, strong interpersonal and communication skills in English, mobility, and a valid driving license.

Key responsibilities
- Supervise and execute wellhead and Xmas Tree installations, maintenance, and repairs at onshore and offshore wellsites
- Prepare wellhead equipment and trees prior to mobilization; test and service wellheads and valves
- Attend customer FATs and conduct well surveys to assess condition and record information
- Inspect and assess wellhead installation tools and ensure readiness for operations
- Perform mechanical services at site including bolt torqueing, casing cutting, seized bolt cutting, onsite machining, and seized lock down screw tip removal
- Lead on-site field service crews, ensure work follows procedures, applicable codes and standards, and HSE requirements
- Complete Field Service Orders (FSO), job reports, and all revenue-generating documents accurately and submit on time
- Report quality issues, equipment/procedural defects, participate in RCA, and support eFNCR processes
- Provide sales support by communicating job scope/status and handling customer comments, requests, and complaints
- Prepare and complete safety-related documentation; actively participate in safety meetings and STOP card programs
- Develop weekly/monthly dashboards or utilization tracking to meet the 17 days/month target utilization
- Drive interface with Service Management and act as daily point of contact for client and internal stakeholders
- Assist in development of procedural requirements for current and future jobs to improve efficiency and reduce downtime
- Travel locally and internationally as required and work independently when needed; pursue continuous self-development on products and services
Experience & skills
- Mechanical Engineering qualification or Diploma
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Field Service Technician with wellhead installation supervision and product expertise
- Advanced knowledge in one or more: electrical, subsea equipment, hydraulic equipment, mechanical equipment and tools, structural steel
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications
- Ability to perform moderately complex technical calculations
- Proficiency in troubleshooting, explaining, and teaching use of technical tools and instruments
- Knowledge of applicable theories, practices, and internal business processes and procedures
- Basic Electrical and Instrumentation knowledge
- Field Service experience with offshore operations and readiness to travel
- Effective verbal and written English communication; strong interpersonal skills; customer-focused and hands-on
- Valid driving license
