Job description
The role holder is primarily responsible for driving profitable growth from existing and new clients by proactively engaging clients, understanding and meeting their needs with the full range of Private Banking products. They manage an assigned portfolio of clients within the Private Bank, focusing on deepening existing relationships as well as extending into new product areas to improve client value contribution. They also lead a cluster of Relationship Managers (RMs), ensuring performance delivery, risk oversight, and a strong compliance culture.

Key responsibilities
- Drive profitable growth by acquiring, developing, and servicing long-term relationships with HNW clients
- Lead a cluster of RMs on sales management with supervisory oversight on risk and control
- Accountable for performance of both individual and cluster client books
- Develop and implement business/sales plans for the cluster and individual book
- Deliver NNM, AUM, revenue growth, and operating metrics including client satisfaction and portfolio mix
- Generate and convert pipeline of target market prospects into clients
- Deepen existing customer relationships to grow portfolio size
- Implement asset allocation strategies aligned with client needs and model portfolios
- Deliver, monitor, and review solutions based on client investment profiles
- Conduct periodic reviews of client accounts
- Assign referrals to cluster members and support closure of referrals
- Act as escalation point for clients and address concerns
- Control costs and mitigate operational losses to deliver profitable growth
- Support continuous improvement of processes for efficiency and effectiveness
- Ensure operational risks are managed in compliance with policies and regulations
- Apply sales management, suitability, and onboarding processes appropriately
- Build and develop high-performing RM cluster with focus on productivity and capability
- Coach and guide RMs to deliver against financial and non-financial objectives
- Manage RM resourcing, performance, and recognition
- Act as first line of defence for the cluster, ensuring effective risk management
- Ensure risk appetite is clear and effective controls and processes are in place
- Handle customer issues, complaints, and product enquiries in timely manner
- Ensure adequate reporting of risk matters to relevant committees
- Assess effectiveness of governance and highlight gaps where appropriate
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and expectations
- Participate in Local Client Committee and other relevant committees
- Embed ethical culture and adherence to Group values, policies, and Code of Conduct
- Lead the cluster to achieve outcomes under the Bank’s Conduct Principles
- Engage with audit findings and ensure remedial actions are implemented
Experience & skills
- Relevant academic or professional degree
- Licenses and certifications/accreditations as required for role remit
- Fluency in business English
- Demonstrable experience in the Private Banking industry at senior level
- Strong people management and coaching skills
- Proven capability in growing business for a team
- Proven risk management capabilities
- Firm adherence to business guidelines and compliance issues
