Job description
The Executive Vice President – Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) is a senior leadership role responsible for designing, implementing, and delivering the organization's ERM strategy across multiple industries and business units. The role ensures that ERM frameworks are aligned to ISO 31000 and IRM standards, provides advisory services to senior executives, and integrates risk management with commercial objectives. The incumbent develops relationships with senior stakeholders, coaches and mentors team members, prepares audit committee and board reporting, and ensures quality assurance across risk management deliverables. Responsibilities include leading end-to-end ERM processes, including planning, risk workshops, fieldwork, data analysis, reporting, and performance appraisals, while driving a customer-centric and collaborative approach to risk. The EVP ensures that ERM activities are relevant, timely, and add value to business objectives, acting as a thought leader and ambassador for ERM practices across the organization.

Key responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and deliver the enterprise-wide ERM strategy in alignment with ISO 31000 and IRM standards
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders to understand business needs and add value through ERM advisory
- Lead and mentor the ERM team, providing coaching, development, and performance management to cultivate future business leaders
- Prepare quarterly reports and papers for the Audit & Risk Committee and Board, including risk trends, statistics, and advisory inputs
- Manage end-to-end ERM processes, including planning, risk workshops, fieldwork, data analysis, and audit documentation
- Engage with business leaders to understand key drivers, risk context, and priorities, ensuring ERM activities are commercially relevant
- Ensure quality assurance of risk management deliverables, including work papers, reporting, and process adherence
- Develop talent in the team, foster transparency, accountability, and teamwork, and set the tone for high performance
- Act as a trusted advisor and ambassador for ERM across the organization, communicating risk relevance and benefits effectively
- Oversee process documentation, flowcharting, and bespoke audit programme creation to support risk management initiatives
- Integrate ERM with business strategy, project management, and operational objectives, ensuring proactive identification and mitigation of risks
- Promote a culture of initiative, problem-solving, and thought leadership within the ERM team
Experience & skills
- Degree and IRM qualification (independently verified)
- Minimum 12 years of experience in ERM, preferably Big 4 trained with Blue Chip clients
- Proven track record of delivering large, complex ERM frameworks in corporate environments
- International experience in mature corporate governance environments (Europe, UK, US, SA, Australasia), GCC experience desirable
- Strong leadership, team management, and mentoring skills
- Strategic thinking and commercial acumen
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
- Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
- Excellent organizational, project management, and multitasking skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication in English
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and data analysis
