Job description
The Night Auditor position in Doha, Qatar plays a critical dual role within hotel operations by combining front office responsibilities with accounting and financial control duties during the night shift. The primary objective of this role is to ensure the accuracy and integrity of all financial transactions recorded throughout the day while maintaining seamless guest services overnight. The Night Auditor is responsible for conducting comprehensive end-of-day audits, reconciling room revenue, food and beverage sales, and other ancillary income streams to verify accuracy and compliance with hotel policies. This position also manages guest arrivals and departures during overnight hours, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience for late check-ins and early check-outs. In addition to financial reconciliation, the Night Auditor prepares detailed daily financial and operational reports for management review, updates reservation records, and supports administrative functions that contribute to overall hotel efficiency. The role requires vigilance in monitoring hotel premises to ensure safety and security standards are maintained, responding promptly to guest concerns, and coordinating with relevant departments when issues arise. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, a solid understanding of accounting basics, proficiency in the OPERA PMS system, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a quiet yet responsibility-intensive night environment.

Key responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive nightly audit procedures to reconcile all daily financial transactions including room charges, food and beverage sales, and additional service revenues
- Verify accuracy of billing, postings, and payments while identifying and correcting discrepancies
- Prepare and distribute detailed financial, occupancy, and operational reports for hotel management
- Process guest check-ins and check-outs during overnight hours efficiently and professionally
- Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and special requests, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and service quality
- Maintain accurate records of reservations, room status updates, and guest accounts within the OPERA PMS system
- Monitor hotel premises for safety and security, reporting any suspicious activities or incidents in accordance with procedures
- Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments to address operational needs during the night shift
- Ensure compliance with hotel policies, accounting standards, and internal control procedures
- Support administrative tasks and prepare documentation required for the next business day
Experience & skills
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional hospitality or accounting training is advantageous
- Up to 1 year of experience in hospitality, front office operations, or accounting roles preferred
- Proficiency in OPERA PMS system and familiarity with hotel management software
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reconciliation processes
- Excellent attention to detail with high accuracy in numerical and financial data
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions during night shifts
- Effective time management and ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Customer-focused mindset with strong interpersonal skills
