Job description
The Logistics Manager role is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and supports Thalesā expanding operations across the Kingdom, where the company has been present for over 40 years with more than 600 employees. Thales operates across critical sectors including digital security, identity management, data protection, rail signalling, control and train protection systems for the NorthāSouth Railway, in-flight entertainment and connectivity systems, air traffic management, air defence, communication and optronic systems, and national e-security and electronic payment systems. The role is responsible for developing and maintaining logistics functions across all KSA business units, covering transport operations including daily dispatch from site, import and export activities, trade compliance, warehouse operations, and order management. The position controls and supports business systems solutions as a key user, ensures optimal stock levels to maximize capacity while meeting customer requirements, implements and reports on corporate logistics supplier strategies, and formulates logistics strategies focused on inventory optimization and service levels. The role includes full responsibility for logistics budgeting, achieving financial targets through efficient management of logistics contracts and inventory policies, managing stock policy for collaterals including range management and product life cycle analysis, and ensuring legally compliant and auditable tender processes across all distribution channels. The Logistics Manager works closely with corporate teams to align with a global supply chain, collaborates with Project Managers to ensure all Riyadh operational project tasks remain on plan, and ensures compliance with company procedures relating to health and safety, quality, EMV regulations, and legal requirements, maintaining safe working conditions and adherence to company and legislative policies. Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain logistics functions including transport operations, daily site dispatch, import and export activities, trade compliance, warehouse operations, and order management across all KSA business units
- Control and support business systems solutions for KSA operations by acting as a key system user
- Ensure stock levels are optimized to maximize available capacity while meeting customer requirements
- Implement, control, and report on corporate logistics supplier strategies
- Formulate and implement logistics strategies, systems, and review procedures focused on inventory optimization and service level delivery
- Implement and manage the logistics team budget and ensure delivery against financial targets
- Meet financial targets through efficient management of logistics contracts and inventory policies
- Control and manage stock policy for collaterals including range management and product life cycle analysis
- Ensure logistics operations remain flexible to support and respond to other business areas
- Ensure a fully auditable tender process exists for all distribution channels
- Ensure all logistics operations are legally compliant with support from relevant teams
- Adhere to company procedures including health and safety, quality standards, and EMV regulations
- Comply with health and safety legislation and company policy to maintain safe working conditions and proper use of safety equipment
- Build strong interfaces with corporate teams to support a global supply chain model
- Work closely with Project Managers to ensure all Riyadh operational project tasks remain on plan
- Follow quality procedures and instructions to ensure product and service quality is maintained
Experience & skills
- Possess a minimum of 4+ years of professional experience
- Hold a Bachelorās degree in a relevant field
- Demonstrate experience in supply chain, logistics, or trade compliance roles
- Show knowledge of logistics and freight distribution lifecycle
- Be competent in IT systems with working knowledge of ERP systems
- Have experience leading or managing staff within a technical environment
- Demonstrate knowledge of health and safety requirements
- Be fluent in English and Arabic
