Job description
Grant Thornton UAE is seeking an Assistant Manager/Manager - External Audit to join its growing team in Dubai. The role involves leading audit engagements, managing client relationships, ensuring audit work is performed to the highest professional standards, and supporting the development of junior team members. The position requires strong technical accounting skills, knowledge of IFRS, and experience in both Financial Services and non-Financial Services sectors.

Key responsibilities
- Lead audit engagements, agree on audit timetables, brief audit teams (including specialists), and monitor budgets.
- Ensure audit work is completed profitably, timely, and in accordance with professional standards.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring exceptional service and clear communication.
- Manage, coach, and motivate team members, providing regular feedback and supporting their development.
- Maintain high-quality audit documentation and adhere to the firm’s risk management policies.
- Apply technical knowledge to resolve complex accounting and audit issues.
- Contribute to a positive team culture and support the development of junior staff.
Experience & skills
- At least four years of experience in external audit in an international professional services firm.
- Completed professional qualification (CA, ACA, ACCA, CPA).
- Strong technical accounting skills with sound knowledge of IFRS.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Experience auditing a range of industries across Financial Services and non-Financial Services.
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing priorities.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills.
- Experience coaching and developing others.
- Proficiency in audit software and Microsoft Office tools.
