Job description
The Calypso Product Engineer role focuses on front-to-back implementation, configuration, and maintenance of the Calypso trading and risk management platform within an investment banking environment. The position requires extensive knowledge of Calypso architecture, APIs, and modules, with hands-on experience implementing Calypso SSE, enterprise risk system (ERS), limit frameworks, and Value at Risk (VaR) setups. The role covers multiple asset classes including Fixed Income, Money Market instruments, Interest Rate derivatives, FX derivatives, Credit derivatives, and non-linear derivatives. The engineer works with the latest Calypso versions (minimum V15.2), performs Java-based custom development, manages Oracle PL/SQL data interactions, and supports integration with market and trade data sources such as Bloomberg SAPI, Reuters feeds, TOMS, and Deal Tracker. The role includes configuring market data curves, P&L and accounting setups, workstation environments, and back-office operations such as settlements, static data, messaging, and transfers. The engineer also supports Open API integrations, application server configurations, network-level troubleshooting, and system performance stability while collaborating with multiple teams and engaging senior stakeholders on technical and architectural decisions.

Key responsibilities
- Implement, configure, and maintain Calypso front-to-back solutions including trading, risk, and back-office modules
- Design and implement Calypso ERS risk management frameworks including limit management and VaR setup
- Develop and customize Calypso solutions using Java with object-oriented programming, collections, and multithreading
- Configure and manage Calypso market data, curves, pricing, official P&L, and accounting setups
- Support Fixed Income, Money Market, FX, Interest Rate, and Credit derivative trading platforms
- Integrate Calypso with external systems and data sources including Bloomberg SAPI, Reuters feeds, TOMS, and Deal Tracker
- Configure and support Calypso Open API and Open Banking integration patterns
- Manage Calypso application servers, deployments, and builds using JBoss and Gradle
- Troubleshoot Calypso system issues at application, server, and network interaction levels
- Support Calypso back-office operations including settlements, transfers, messaging, static data, and position configuration
- Configure Calypso workstations and front-office workstation environments
- Analyze business requirements and deliver system implementation solutions for trading platforms
- Influence and guide multiple teams on technical design and Calypso best practices
Experience & skills
- Demonstrate 7–10 years of experience implementing, configuring, and maintaining Calypso systems
- Possess extensive hands-on knowledge of Calypso architecture, APIs, and modules with minimum version V15.2
- Show strong experience in front-to-back Calypso implementations including risk management systems and ERS
- Demonstrate hands-on Java development experience using Java 1.7 or higher with OOPS, collections, and multithreading
- Have working knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL and the Calypso data model
- Demonstrate experience with application servers such as JBoss and build tools such as Gradle
- Show experience integrating Calypso using Open API and other integration patterns
- Possess strong understanding of Fixed Income, FX derivatives, Interest Rate derivatives, and Credit derivatives
- Demonstrate knowledge of market risk and credit risk concepts including limits and VaR configuration
- Have experience with Calypso P&L, accounting, market data, curve setup, and position configuration
- Demonstrate experience with Calypso back-office operations including settlements and transfers
- Possess experience troubleshooting system, server, and network-level issues in Calypso environments
