Job description
"The Senior School Design Technology Teacher role at The British International School Riyadh (BISR), Al Waha Campus, involves delivering high-quality Design Technology education to secondary students aged 11â18 following the English National Curriculum. BISR is a not-for-profit, co-educational international school established in 1979, accredited by the Council of International Schools and as a British School Overseas, and a member of BSME, AoBSO, HMC, and COBIS. The role requires teaching across all Design Technology disciplines including Food & Nutrition, contributing to a holistic learning experience enriched by local and international context. The teacher will deliver outstanding practical learning experiences, apply high-quality assessment and feedback strategies, support pastoral care as a Form Tutor, contribute to co-curricular programmes, and actively support the schoolâs mission, vision, and strategic pillars of learning, enrichment, and well-being in a safe, inclusive, and intercultural environment.

Key responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality Design Technology teaching across all DT disciplines including Food & Nutrition for students aged 11â18
- Plan and implement engaging lessons aligned with the English National Curriculum
- Create and maintain safe, inclusive, and effective practical learning environments
- Use high-quality assessment and feedback strategies to ensure student progress
- Support studentsâ academic, social, and emotional development through strong pastoral care
- Serve as a Form Tutor and act as a first point of contact within the pastoral care system
- Contribute to the schoolâs co-curricular programme, enrichment activities, and community events
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues across teaching and pastoral teams
- Support the schoolâs Mission, Vision, and Motto and contribute positively to school culture
- Promote student well-being and holistic development in an intercultural context
Experience & skills
- Hold a UK or UK recognised teaching qualification
- Have a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience
- Demonstrate experience teaching Design Technology across multiple disciplines including Food & Nutrition
- Possess experience teaching secondary-aged students within the English National Curriculum
- Demonstrate ability to deliver high-quality practical learning experiences
- Show commitment to assessment, feedback, and student progress
- Demonstrate willingness to contribute to pastoral care, form tutoring, and co-curricular activities
