Job description
The Events Executive role at Media Rotana in Dubai, UAE is positioned within the hotel’s Catering, Sales, and Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Events (MICE) operations. The role is responsible for the overall success of the hotel’s meeting, catering, and event segment, securing business opportunities, planning meetings and events, and coordinating closely with hotel operations and clients before, during, and after each event. The position includes selling off-site events and locations, handling all meeting and catering enquiries in accordance with established standard procedures, and acting as a single point of contact for clients for detailed event planning. The Events Executive works in close coordination with banquet operations, food and beverage management, rooms division operations, finance teams, and external suppliers to ensure seamless event execution. The role focuses on meeting client requirements while optimizing hotel revenue through strategic yield management and upselling of hotel facilities and services. Collaboration with the Area Sales MICE Team is essential to achieve monthly sales targets, along with conducting site inspections, client entertainment, and familiarization activities. The position is also responsible for managing all client correspondence related to banquet and event business, including proposals, confirmations, agreement letters, and amendments. Computer literacy and experience with Opera property management system are considered an advantage.

- Secure and manage meetings, catering, and event business to ensure the success of the hotel’s events segment.
- Sell off-site events and locations in alignment with hotel sales strategies.
- Handle all meeting and catering enquiries according to established hotel standard operating procedures.
- Act as a one-stop point of contact for clients for detailed event planning and coordination.
- Coordinate with banquet operations, food and beverage management, rooms division operations, finance teams, and external suppliers to deliver events.
- Optimize hotel revenue through strategic yield management and upselling of hotel facilities and services.
- Collaborate with the Area Sales MICE Team to achieve defined monthly sales targets.
- Conduct site inspections, client entertainment, and familiarization activities.
- Prepare and send all client correspondence related to banquet and event business, including proposals, confirmations, agreement letters, and amendments.
Experience & skills
- Hold a degree in the hospitality field.
- Demonstrate previous experience in catering sales within a hotel environment.
- Possess excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Demonstrate computer literacy with prior experience using Opera property management system considered an advantage.
- Demonstrate experience in meetings, catering, and event planning and coordination within hotel operations.
