Job description
The Senior Engineer, Structural Design at ADNOC Drilling is responsible for conducting regular physical audits on offshore and onshore sites to assess the technical integrity of asset structures, ensuring adherence to company and regulatory codes and standards, and promoting best engineering practices. The role safeguards structural integrity while considering risk-based decision-making across financial, commercial, reputational, and technical dimensions. The engineer manages and performs studies for marine items, reviews specifications and scopes of work for contracted activities, endorses contractor pre-qualification, and validates technical evaluations for contract awards. The role involves advising business managers on compromised asset structures, participating in investigations to identify root causes, providing long-term technical solutions, facilitating communication between Integrity Managers and technical authorities, keeping abreast of Codes of Practice, standards, procedures, and industry developments, and acting as the approval authority for continued operation in case of integrity deficiencies. The engineer ensures inspection and maintenance crews implement testing programmes correctly, provides expert advice during integrity breakdowns, contributes to company-wide initiatives, and ensures best practices are shared internally and with international drilling contractors. Compliance with UAE laws, ADNOC, ADNOC Drilling, and client Asset Integrity Management codes is mandatory.
