Job description
Hotel, commercial and residential developments at Al-Futtaim Real Estate need someone to carry them from design inception through construction and handover, on time, to quality and within budget. Based in Dubai, this Senior Project Manager leads a mixed team of internal and external consultants, contractors and commercial staff. Delegation and coaching are part of the job, as is making sure site teams are properly staffed and engineers get on-the-job training. Quality is judged by the receipt of a Completion Certificate, so standards are reviewed and monitored continuously. Programme targets, cost reports and viability limits shape much of your week, and regular value engineering exercises keep engineered solutions within cost parameters. Where possible, Al Futtaim brand products are integrated into the projects. Planning, facility management and commercial teams expect clear communication, and you also take part in selecting suppliers and contractors. The role calls for 15 to 20 years in construction project management, at least 10 of them in leadership within a multinational environment, along with a university degree in Civil Engineering and Building and proficiency in MS Project.

- Submit project cost reports on time and deliver within or below budget
- Advise the project team on value-added and buildability options accurately and on time
- Conduct regular value engineering exercises to keep engineered solutions within cost parameters
- Staff the project team with competent site personnel
- Direct site works and provide on-the-job training to engineers
- Record project activities for the full duration of each project
- Compile accurate completion documentation for Completion Certificates
- Evaluate and help select suitable suppliers and contractors
- Integrate Al Futtaim brand products into projects where possible
- Communicate with business, commercial, planning and facility management stakeholders throughout delivery
Experience & skills
- Bring 15 to 20 years of experience in construction from a project management background
- Offer at least 10 years in a leadership position within a multinational environment
- Hold a university degree in Civil Engineering and Building
- Use MS Project proficiently for planning and progress tracking
- Demonstrate project management experience on major projects
- Show strong leadership and team management skills
- Communicate effectively in a multinational setting
- Apply sound cost management and value engineering practices to keep projects within budget
