Job description
International Tax Advisor - Manager role in Manama, Bahrain within EY International Tax & Transaction Services (ITTS) practice, focused on advising clients on regional and international tax implications of operations in line with relevant tax codes and jurisdictions. Advisory-focused specialization in international tax matters including permanent establishment, double taxation, cross-border treaties, tax structuring, corporate tax impact assessments, withholding tax, and other related topics. Responsibilities include assisting with successful delivery of technically complex and demanding international tax engagements to ensure technical and practical excellence and maximize client service quality; managing leads and opportunities from other areas of the tax practice and wider EY network; and contributing to practice development through internal training delivery, developing precedents, sharing knowhow, participating in team and firm events, giving internal and external presentations, and producing expert articles for publications. Candidate profile includes client-driven approach, strong commercial and strategic awareness, strong technical knowledge and subject matter expertise across international tax topics, and understanding of tax laws and codes of the jurisdictions worked with. Qualifications include relevant bachelorās degree in Tax, Economics, Accounting, Finance or related area (or relevant masters) plus approved professional qualification such as ADIT, ATT, ACCA, CPA, CA, or LLB; 6+ years relevant client-facing international tax advisory experience; broad exposure to international taxation with focus on inbound and outbound investments; strong organizational, project management, analytical, and verbal/written communication skills; and experience managing a team and/or mentoring/developing junior team members. Ideally includes advanced knowledge/specialization in a particular international tax area and fluency in Arabic (written and spoken).

- Assist with successful delivery of technically complex and demanding international tax engagements by ensuring technical and practical excellence to maximize client service quality
- Manage leads and opportunities from other areas of the tax practice and the wider EY network and support cross-practice opportunity flow
- Develop the ITTS practice through delivering internal training, developing precedents, sharing knowhow, participating in team and firm events, and providing internal and external presentations
- Produce expert articles for publications to support thought leadership and practice development
- Manage and/or mentor and develop junior team members as part of team management responsibilities
Experience & skills
- Hold a relevant bachelorās degree focused on Tax, Economics, Accounting, Finance, or a related area or hold a relevant mastersā degree
- Hold an approved professional qualification such as ADIT, ATT, ACCA, CPA, CA, or LLB
- Have 6 years or more of relevant client-facing international tax advisory experience
- Have broad exposure to international taxation with focus on inbound and outbound investments
- Maintain strong technical knowledge and subject matter expertise on international tax topics including permanent establishment, double taxation, cross-border treaties, withholding tax, tax structuring, and corporate tax impact assessments
- Maintain understanding of tax laws and tax codes of relevant jurisdictions and be able to apply them in advisory engagements
- Demonstrate strong organizational, project management, analytical, and verbal and written communication skills
- Have experience managing a team and/or mentoring and developing junior team members
- Have advanced knowledge or specialization in a particular area of international tax and fluency in Arabic written and spoken as an ideal preference
