The Chief of Staff for the Defense and Security global taskforce within Oliver Wyman’s Business Impact Team (BIT) plays a central role in the strategic and commercial development, operations, and community building of Marsh’s and Oliver Wyman’s Defense & Security (D&S) task force. The role supports Oliver Wyman Defense & Security Leadership by managing day-to-day operations and acting as the go-to-person for all task force-related matters. The position translates Marsh’s and Oliver Wyman’s Defense & Security vision into strategic initiatives, performance metrics, and operational plans, supporting the D&S strategy roll-out and enabling collaboration across Marsh businesses in the implementation of Marsh’s Defense & Security growth acceleration strategy. The role acts as a thought partner to leadership, orchestrating cross-functional collaboration with Finance, Business Development, Marketing, Legal, Talent, IT, Knowledge, and Events while ensuring commercial performance, investments, and people decisions align with strategic objectives. Responsibilities include implementing the Marsh Defense and Security Strategy Initiative, standing up security clearance and security office functions in geographies, refining Marsh six priority go-to-market propositions, managing monthly Marsh Defense SteerCos and governance, and supporting risk & compliance governance. The role supports practice management across commercial, people, and capability functions including global account planning, performance tracking, new global ventures, global and regional pyramid forecasting, recruitment coordination, objective setting, professional development support, global partnerships, new methods and tools, and business development coordination including RFP and proposal planning, resourcing and submission ownership, and global proposition development. Additional responsibilities include knowledge management through global primer development, credentials management, onboarding of consultants, research coordination with Knowledge Services, thought leadership through publication drafting, global campaign management with Marketing, and event planning and management. The role requires experience with confidential and business-critical issues and advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with knowledge of advanced data analysis as a plus. The organization operates within a hybrid work model requiring at least three days per week in office or onsite with clients, supporting collaboration, professional development, and flexible working arrangements.
