The Senior Manager - Veterinarian (Aquatic Animal Health & Marine Conservation) role within REEF, a subsidiary of Red Sea Global, is responsible for leading comprehensive veterinary healthcare programs for Corallium's diverse marine collection including fish, elasmobranchs, corals, and invertebrates. The position focuses on preventative health care, diagnostics, treatment, quarantine management, disease control, and conservation medicine while ensuring optimal animal welfare. The role involves developing preventative health programs, conducting health assessments, establishing nutrition and feeding protocols, and designing water quality monitoring systems to prevent disease. The Senior Manager is responsible for diagnosing illness using laboratory diagnostics including microscopy, cytology, hematology, and sample collection, developing treatment plans, administering medications, performing surgical procedures, and providing emergency medical care. The role includes implementing quarantine protocols, biosecurity strategies, and disease outbreak management while supporting research initiatives and conservation programs related to Red Sea species. The position requires establishing veterinary protocols, maintaining medical records using database systems, managing veterinary budgets, designing facilities and equipment requirements, and supervising veterinary staff and aquarists. The Senior Manager ensures compliance with veterinary regulations, manages relationships with diagnostic laboratories, prepares health status reports, and maintains safety protocols including waste disposal and water discharge monitoring. The role operates in clinic, laboratory, and aquarium environments requiring in-water procedures, emergency response availability, adherence to safety protocols, and handling occupational hazards associated with aquatic veterinary practice.
