Head of Legal (Enterprise SaaS & AI)

The Head of Legal serves as the company’s chief legal advisor for an Enterprise AI and Enterprise SaaS organization operating across multiple regions, enabling organizations in Financial Crime Prevention and Enterprise Knowledge Intelligence. The role is responsible for establishing and leading the entire legal and compliance function, developing and executing the global legal strategy aligned with business goals and risk appetite, and structuring the legal department’s operating model, policies, and governance framework. Reporting directly to the Group CFO and supervising a team of 3 to 4, the position provides strategic counsel on corporate governance, risk mitigation, regulatory compliance, commercial structuring, and cross-border legal matters. The role requires deep expertise in technology law, commercial law, cloud services, software licensing, SaaS subscription agreements, Enterprise licensing contracts, Service Level Agreements (SLAs), Data Processing Agreements (DPAs), partnership, reseller, and channel agreements, as well as advising on pricing models, liability structures, indemnifications, and SLAs. It ensures compliance with local and international data protection regulations including GDPR, NCA, and PDPL in KSA, as well as cloud security frameworks, SaaS-specific regulatory requirements, government procurement rules (including KSA public-sector SaaS contracts), and internal and external audit requirements. The Head of Legal manages corporate legal affairs across multiple jurisdictions including labour law, board governance, corporate filings, entity structuring, and investor relations from a legal standpoint. The role identifies and mitigates legal risks related to SaaS operations such as IP rights, cybersecurity, customer data, international expansion, and data breaches, and develops company-wide legal policies covering acceptable use, privacy, compliance, data retention, and vendor relationships. It leads incident response from a legal and regulatory perspective, manages disputes, litigation, arbitration, regulatory inquiries, settlements, and supervises external law firms with cost and performance oversight. The position requires demonstrated ability in international legal and compliance environments, experience within SaaS, cloud, or enterprise software companies, exposure to cross-border SaaS sales, cybersecurity, IP rights, and regulatory compliance, and strong familiarity with KSA legal frameworks including Saudi Commercial Law, PDPL & data residency frameworks, government contracting and Etimad platform exposure, and understanding of CITC/NCA regulations. Experience building or scaling a legal department in a fast-growing tech environment is highly preferred.
