SAP BASIS Lead

IBM Consulting is seeking a SAP BASIS Lead responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining SAP HANA infrastructure and SAP BASIS components across enterprise SAP landscapes. The role focuses on delivering high-performance, scalable, secure, and resilient SAP environments aligned with enterprise architecture standards and business requirements. The SAP BASIS Lead will design and govern end-to-end SAP HANA and SAP BASIS architecture, ensuring optimal configuration of SAP HANA, S/4HANA, ECC, BW, SCM, CRM, SRM, and HCM systems across on-premise, cloud, and hybrid environments. The role includes ownership of SAP technical architecture decisions, ensuring adherence to SAP best practices, and designing SAP deployments on AWS, Microsoft Azure, and hyperscaler cloud platforms. The SAP BASIS Lead will drive cloud migration strategies including ECC to S/4HANA, on-premise to cloud transformations, and RISE-aligned models while ensuring performance, availability, scalability, and security requirements are met. The position includes application and platform design responsibilities, integrating SAP and non-SAP components, maintaining functional interfaces between SAP applications and infrastructure, and ensuring seamless system integration. The role is accountable for system performance, uptime, and scalability, proactively monitoring and optimizing SAP HANA databases, application workloads, interfaces, and data replication. The SAP BASIS Lead will provide technical leadership across advanced SAP technologies including SAP BTP, SAP SLT, SAP ASE, SAP LeanIX, and HANA-based integration scenarios supporting real-time replication, analytics, and extension use cases. The position also ensures security-by-design principles, implements access controls, secure connectivity, and compliance requirements in collaboration with InfoSec teams while delivering enterprise-grade SAP solutions aligned with SLAs and business continuity expectations. The role requires strong expertise in multi-platform architecture, scalability engineering, performance optimization, high-availability architecture, SQL, and database concepts, while collaborating across cross-functional teams including infrastructure, network, security, and business stakeholders.
