The Assistant Environmental Health and Safety Manager is responsible for supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), Food Safety, Sustainability, and Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (OHSMS) within a hospitality environment. The role involves developing and reviewing EHS and food safety manuals, policies, procedures, and documentation, ensuring alignment with corporate standards and regulatory requirements. The position requires active participation in EHS, HACCP, ISO, Sustainability, and OHSMS compliance audits, establishing audit programs, monitoring results, identifying trends, and implementing corrective action plans to maintain full compliance with corporate and regulatory frameworks. The role also involves conducting workplace inspections, leading or supporting incident investigations with root cause analysis, managing documentation related to EHSMS and food safety programs, and monitoring regulatory updates related to environmental protection, occupational health and safety, and food safety laws. The Assistant EHS Manager collaborates with various departments to implement corporate social responsibility initiatives and oversees sustainability initiatives including Rotana Earth programs within the property. The role ensures suppliers and contractors comply with EHS and food safety standards through audits and communication. Additionally, the position supports the development and implementation of OHSMS manuals, procedures, and policies, participates in management review meetings, coordinates training programs for employees, ensures new employees receive task-specific occupational safety training, and reports OHSMS performance to senior management and regulatory authorities. The role includes conducting periodic risk assessments across all operational areas of the hotel, implementing mitigation measures, and ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety policies while protecting guests, employees, and the environment.
