The Clinical Informatics Specialist - Imaging at American Hospital Dubai is responsible for the management, administration, and operational support of Radiology Information System (RIS), Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), Voice Recognition and Dictaphone systems, along with related servers, storage, backup, workstations, and associated peripherals. The role provides technology planning and implementation services in imaging technologies, dictation and reporting, and voice recognition systems, while overseeing daily operations and maintenance of PACS, RIS, voice recognition, and dictation platforms. The specialist works closely with the Medical Imaging Department, Technical Director, Radiologists, physicians, technologists, and end-users to ensure full operational support and adherence to industry best practices. Responsibilities include system development and implementation, requirement analysis, workflow design, documentation, system testing, system integration, configuration, customization, upgrades, user access management, high availability maintenance, project planning, change control, and troubleshooting configuration issues including modality configuration and DICOM settings. The role involves maintaining Windows security patches, data security, backups, disk space monitoring, database integrity, EMR imaging ordering exam catalog maintenance, vendor liaison, and managing user access including user creation, deactivation, permissions, and user database management. The specialist monitors PACS GUI process status, RIS/PACS virtual machines, HP Integrated Lights-Out (iLO) hardware monitoring, SWA RIS processes, Open Link interface monitoring, Tivoli Storage Manager backups, HL7 monitoring, DICOM routing, tele-radiology services, and voice recognition and Dictaphone applications. Additional responsibilities include system downtime coordination, workflow assessment, audit logs verification, incident logging, risk management, policy development, customer feedback analysis, quality management collaboration, and 24/7 on-call rotation. The role also includes training end-users, developing super-users, preparing training documentation, supporting imaging-related applications including CD burners and digitizers, assisting with system specifications and tender documentation, maintaining documentation, and supporting large-scale clinical informatics and imaging integration initiatives.
