The Head of Risk Architecture and Data Management is a senior leadership role within Group Risk Management based in Abu Dhabi, reporting directly to the Head of Enterprise Risk Management Group. The role is responsible for leading the design and implementation of the bank’s Risk Architecture and Data Management Framework (DMF), supporting enterprise-wide risk modeling, rating systems, scorecards, and advanced quantitative analytics. It requires deep expertise in Basel II and Basel III frameworks, IFRS 9 implementation, credit risk modeling, and enterprise risk analytics. The incumbent leads data science and risk IT initiatives, including development and deployment of risk rating models, scorecards, stress testing frameworks, ICAAP processes, and model validation activities. The role oversees risk data governance, ensuring data quality, completeness, accuracy, timeliness, traceability, and secure storage while designing structured frameworks for data collection, organization, and analysis. It also involves leading enterprise risk technology projects, system migrations, upgrades, and integration of legacy systems into modern risk infrastructure. The role requires strong experience in Agile and Scrum methodologies, acting as Scrum Master or program manager for complex cross-functional initiatives, and managing PMO functions for enterprise risk IT projects. Responsibilities include vendor evaluation, RFP processes, contract negotiation, stakeholder engagement, and reporting to senior management and regulators. The role also supports operational risk management functions including RCSA, KRIs, control testing, and BISO responsibilities related to information security governance. It demands strong leadership, quantitative analytics capability using SAS, Python, R, and SPSS, and the ability to manage large-scale data environments, financial risk systems, and regulatory compliance requirements in a complex banking environment.
