Architectural Engineer (UAE National Only) role in the United Arab Emirates within du (Business Unit: du; Category: Regulatory & Shared Services) responsible for designing projects and ensuring execution and success of delivery within cost, timelines, and required quality. The role develops design and conceptual layout and visual schemes in perspective views using AutoCAD and 3D software programs for various types of projects, based on business requirements, creative designing, and space planning, while complying with local authorities’ regulations, du internal regulations, and HSSE standards. The position supports the business plan of retail units, ensuring design delivery per organizational standards and agreed timelines, and coordinates with internal and external stakeholders to incorporate required inputs into design and to acquire all required approvals from projects’ stakeholders. The role prepares and delivers tender documents including architectural drawings and bill of quantities (BOQ), coordinates preparation of tender package with internal stakeholders (business, MEP, FM, Operations, Technology, I.T, Branding) and with external stakeholders (design consultants, contractors, vendors, and local authorities), and visits proposed project sites, premises, and contractor’s facilities for technical evaluation and work inspection. The role participates in value engineering by proposing alternative materials to meet required quality and allocated budget, maintains a database of projects’ records and standard construction details for future reference and development, reviews shop drawings, specifications, and construction material submissions by external consultants and contractors to ensure adherence to contract and notifies line manager of discrepancies, and performs project management from initiation through close-out stages including site supervision. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in architecture / Interior Design, with a Master’s degree in architecture / Interior Design / Engineering Management as a plus. Experience required is minimum 4 years with at least 3 years as an interior designer in retail shops and corporate offices, with Digital / Telecom company experience as a plus. Skills include knowledge of architecture, interior design, architectural principles and techniques, building materials and construction methods, CAD/ Revit / BIM and similar design software, design programs including Adobe Photoshop and InDesign, local authorities’ requirements, engineering relating to building design and costs, drafting 2D/3D architectural drawings, and Microsoft Office.
