Expert – Payroll HCM (Oracle Fusion HCM Payroll)

The Expert – Payroll HCM (Oracle Fusion HCM Payroll) is responsible for aligning payroll processes with enterprise system capabilities while driving automation and collaborating with HR, Finance, and IT stakeholders to enhance payroll user experience and ensure compliance with legal, tax, and data security requirements. The role provides advanced functional expertise in Oracle Fusion HCM Payroll, Oracle HCM Cloud Payroll, Absences and OTL (Oracle Time and Labor) modules, configuring and supporting payroll elements including earnings, deductions, payroll elements, payroll balances, payroll costing, retro-pay functionality, and payroll reconciliation processes. The position designs payroll calculation rules using Fast Formulas and validation rules to meet statutory, company, and union payroll requirements across multiple legal entities and jurisdictions where applicable. Responsibilities include defining and maintaining payroll structures such as payroll calendars, payment methods, costing rules, and integration points across Oracle Fusion HCM modules including Core HR, Time & Labor, Absence Management, and Financials while ensuring seamless payroll-to-General Ledger (GL) reconciliation. The role manages the full end-to-end payroll lifecycle including pre-payroll checks, payroll calculation, validation, pre-payments, costing, post-processing activities, and posting payroll results to the General Ledger (GL), while troubleshooting and resolving payroll exceptions and system errors. The expert configures and maintains approval workflows, security roles, and user access controls for payroll-related functions while ensuring segregation of duties and compliance with internal controls and enterprise governance standards. The role develops and maintains advanced payroll reporting solutions using Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence (OTBI), BI Publisher, and HCM Extracts to support statutory reporting, audits, and management reporting requirements. Additional responsibilities include leading or supporting payroll data migration initiatives including historical payroll data, payroll balances, payroll elements, and costing structures using HCM Data Loader and other migration tools, ensuring validation and reconciliation accuracy. The position collaborates with business stakeholders to gather payroll requirements, map current and future payroll processes, and translate them into system configurations and functional solution designs within Oracle Fusion HCM. The role participates in and manages system testing activities including System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), payroll parallel runs, and cut-over activities while documenting test cases and validating results. Post-implementation responsibilities include providing post-go-live support, troubleshooting payroll system issues, performing root cause analysis, and implementing corrective and preventive actions to ensure system stability and payroll accuracy. The expert prepares comprehensive functional documentation including Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), configuration workbooks, solution design documents, and user guides supporting payroll processes and system configuration. Additionally, the role delivers training sessions and knowledge transfer activities for HR and Payroll users to promote system adoption and best practices and supports change requests, system enhancements, and payroll process improvements through structured impact analysis and estimation activities.
