The Director of Purchasing at Raffles The Palm Dubai, part of Accor’s Luxury & Lifestyle portfolio, is responsible for overseeing and directing all purchasing activities to ensure efficient, ethical, and cost-effective procurement of goods and services in alignment with Accor brand standards, purchasing guidelines, and budgetary objectives. The role covers end-to-end procurement across all hotel departments, including food and beverage, rooms, engineering, housekeeping, administration, operating equipment, and maintenance materials. The position involves developing and implementing a comprehensive procurement strategy, managing strategic supplier relationships, negotiating contracts and pricing, controlling inventory levels, and ensuring compliance with Accor’s Code of Conduct, internal control framework, audit requirements, and local regulations. The Director of Purchasing continuously monitors market trends, supplier performance, and cost fluctuations, promotes local and sustainable sourcing initiatives aligned with Accor’s Planet 21 – Acting Here sustainability program, manages procurement budgets in collaboration with the Director of Finance, analyzes purchasing expenditures to identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensures accurate documentation, reporting, and system usage through procurement platforms such as BirchStreet, Adaco, Oracle, or similar systems within a 4- or 5-star luxury hotel or resort environment.
