First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) is seeking an Assistant Vice President (AVP) & Lead, Credit Control to oversee and lead the Credit Control Unit's day-to-day operational activities while ensuring all credit administration, authorization, operational control, governance, service quality, and regulatory obligations are executed accurately and within agreed turnaround times. The role is responsible for supervising daily operations, allocating workloads, monitoring operational performance, and ensuring business requirements, housekeeping activities, and operational deliverables comply with the bank's regulatory requirements, internal performance standards, and approved operating model. The incumbent authorizes the system encoding of credit limits, limit activations, Credit Applications (CA), Facility Offer Letters (FOL), releases received from the Credit Documentation Unit, Project Payment Certificate (PPC) discounting and settlements, Share Valuation Reports (SVR), availment tickets, suspension of interest entries, write-off entries, banking charges and fees, fixed deposit lien releases, Internal Office Memos (IOM), customer grade changes, and all other credit limit control transactions. The role authorizes corporate obligor master data maintenance requests received from UAE and international branches while ensuring compliance with local regulatory requirements and approved operating procedures. Responsibilities include monitoring all work submission channels, workflow queues, and email requests for efficient task allocation across the unit, supervising issuance of Liability and No Liability Certificates, monitoring credit limits maintained within GLCMS, validating the accuracy of interest rate applications across ADI, ACI, GDI, and GCI systems, ensuring document custody, archival processes, tracker maintenance, reconciliations, housekeeping standards, and periodic operational reviews. The position is accountable for achieving high internal customer satisfaction by delivering superior service quality, responding promptly to service requests, queries, escalations, deficiency reports, and operational exceptions while maintaining target turnaround times (TAT) and service level agreements (SLA). The AVP remains current with UAE Central Bank regulations, banking legislation, Corporate Credit guidelines, internal policies, regulatory updates, and industry developments to ensure ongoing compliance across all Credit Control processes. Leadership responsibilities include workforce planning, leave management, resource optimization, workload balancing, productivity monitoring, staff coaching, knowledge sharing, on-the-job training, succession planning, backup planning, performance management, employee recognition, adherence to organizational values, and supporting the Unit Head in operational management, strategic initiatives, delegated assignments, and business continuity. The incumbent leads the development and continuous enhancement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Service Level Agreements (SLA), Process Notes (PN), operational guidelines, governance documentation, and internal control tools while monitoring productivity metrics and reporting operational performance to senior management. The role is responsible for completing the annual Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), performing operational risk control assurance testing, maintaining the Business Continuity Plan (BCP), conducting Business Impact Analysis (BIA), performing operational risk assessments, reporting Key Risk Indicators (KRI), monitoring operational loss and near-miss events, and ensuring compliance with audit requirements including Internal Audit (INA), Risk Management Unit (RMU), Operational Risk & Control (ORC), and regulatory examinations. The position prepares management reports, analyzes operational performance, identifies process improvement opportunities, enhances operational efficiency, strengthens business-as-usual (BAU) controls, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, sustainability, cost optimization, operational excellence, and risk reduction. Performance expectations include achieving zero operational losses, zero income leakage, zero unauthorized policy or regulatory breaches, zero critical audit findings, zero housekeeping breaches, minimum 95% turnaround time compliance, greater than 90% internal customer satisfaction, and satisfactory audit ratings across all internal, external, and regulatory reviews. Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree or related discipline together with a minimum of six years of relevant banking experience in progressively increasing managerial responsibilities within credit facility management or credit control functions.
