IT Infrastructure & HW Engineer

The IT Infrastructure & HW Engineer is responsible for specification, design, implementation, testing, and support of IT infrastructure within assigned UAE projects, based at Tawazun Industrial Park. The role includes delivery of IT infrastructure system requirements, high-level and low-level design documents, RFQs to suppliers, interface documentation, installation procedures, maintenance procedures, test procedures, and reports. The engineer analyzes user and system requirements, derives specifications for IT and hardware infrastructure, collaborates with DevOps and Integration & Test teams, and coordinates closely with CAD teams for single-line, wiring, and installation drawings. Responsibilities include interfacing with suppliers and subcontractors; defining hardware specifications; managing requests for quotation; tracking production, acceptance tests, delivery; handling obsolescence management; preparing Bills of Materials and definition files; following procurement of COTS; conducting training for peers and customers; attending site surveys and preparing survey reports; defining test procedures and conducting acceptance tests; supervising hardware and safety audits; and participating in internal and customer technical meetings. Technologies involved include RS232, RS422, discrete signaling, Ethernet, electrical cabling, AutoCAD, Cadence, Cisco, Alcatel-Lucent, Fortinet, Dell server and storage bay technologies, datacenter structured cabling, coaxial and discreet wire, UPS, datacenter standards such as TIA-942, and military or professional mobile radios. The role requires experience in integration with VHF/UHF communication systems, EMC fundamentals, low voltage directive, CE marking, server, storage, virtualization, and IT security controls including endpoint protection, PKI, server hardening, network security, and VM security. The position spans the full IT infrastructure lifecycle from requirements to handover and requires strong technical document writing, requirements specification, architecture modeling, technical analysis, multi-discipline collaboration, contractor coordination, and customer-facing capabilities.
